rta'ing of small altec cluster

we had an earlier discussion on tuning a system here, so i thought i would post my results using a rane re 27 to set my altec 1432a equalizer. the crossover points, running a 3 way setup are 80hz, attenuated to level 8 with my subs. 550hz attenuated to4, and the horns attenuated to a level of 2. the sharps peaks you see on the eq are at 250hz and 2500 hz. this eq is set at +or- 12db's of attenuation
sorry 'bout the blurry pics, got larger ones if want to see them. also, im using the rane crossover on the bottom for this set up, the one on top is for another small altec cluster. i realize that the offset of the speaker probably causes some phase issues, but im fairly certain that all systems have the same problem 'off axis'

The roughly 20dB range of EQ really puzzled me at first, then I realized you're playing both systems together.

With dual sources of the same material so far (acoustically) apart, there's gonna be a lot of comb filtering, which is something you can't EQ away. You merely end up with an averaged response that doesn't address the source of the problem.

To see what I mean, switch off one system or the other and re-EQ. You'll find it takes much less boost and cut (your 1432 does 12dB of either), and the sound will "clear up" tremendously.

For the EQ process, if you start with all sliders at the center "0" position, first cut all the hotspots, and only boost what you have to as a final measure. Then increase the overall gain if you need to, to restore gain structure.

yes, however, to play all the speakers, i need to run the a-5's and 210's in the same set. ive only so many amps and crossovers. so these are all hooked together running at 8 ohms..well, there abouts. 515b's in the 210's and 416-16b's in the a-5's. all large format drivers are 8 ohm so their load at the amp is 4 ohms. when i run it all..10 15 inchers, 2 18's, 6 horns..and 24 8's... suprisingly it doesnt sound like mud
